Red Roaster help create futures with new charity sponsorship

February 5, 2024 Posted in: News

Redroaster have partnered with Team Domenica to help create futures for people with learning disabilities in Sussex. The restaurant and coffee business are making a difference by sponsoring the T-shirts worn by our runners at Brighton Marathon Weekend 2024. This exciting collaboration reflects the deep-rooted connection we share…

A long-standing history

Team Domenica’s partnership with Redroaster started in September 2020. At a time of uncertainty – when social distancing measures meant that our candidates had to look for different ways to grow their skills – Redroaster stepped up to the plate. The journey began with our young people building experience by packing and roasting for their business. However, our collaboration reached new heights in 2021 when we began roasting our own Café Domenica coffee at their roastery. This initiative added a vibrant, innovative dimension to our programmes. It allowed our candidates to showcase their diverse skills and interests, in new and exciting ways.

I love working with the coffee and enjoy learning all about where it comes from. I really enjoy the social side and have loved making new friendships whilst learning.

Alison, Team Domenica Candidate

Our relationship with Redroaster continues to offer our candidates the opportunity to learn new skills, gain independence and make the best of friends. We are proud to say that we are the first roastery in the UK where coffee is roasted, packaged, and sealed by people with learning disabilities. Since it’s introduction, our coffee has found its way into our cafés as well as homes and businesses across Sussex.

Sponsoring change

As our runners prepare for the Brighton Marathon Weekend, and the final charity places begin to fill (get yours here), the fantastic team at Redroaster have joined the fun by sponsoring our participant’s t-shirts. In doing so, our runners carry the spirit of inclusivity and empowerment that our partnership with Redroaster represents. Our young people are an integral part of the Redroaster family, and so too are our supporters.

Diana, the head of Redroaster, aptly captured the essence of our collaboration, saying:

I love working with Team Domenica. It’s great as a small independent business owner to be able to help wherever we can in the community.

This sentiment reflects Redroaster’s exceptional commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of our candidates. We are proud of the growth we have achieved together, and look forward to continuing this remarkable journey, hand-in-hand.
