A one-year structured study and training programme that takes place over four days each week. Candidates complete a registered qualification and develop the communication, independence and resilience needed to feel confident in the workplace.
Programme Structure
Classroom Learning
In the classroom, candidates work towards their Functional Skills qualifications. In this bespoke setting, they build confidence and independence, developing the skills from other areas of our provision.
The North Star
Our pub brings classroom learning to life, helping our young people build on their skills in a professional and varied environment. It is also a space for them to show the benefits of a more inclusive society.
Work Experience
With the support of a mentor, candidates complete three, approximately six-week placements across various industries. This helps candidates build the knowledge and experience to pursue a career that’s right for them.
Enrichment
Enrichment utilises team-based activities to build resilience and interpersonal skills. It also fosters opportunities for friendships, and encourages candidates to actively engage with their community.
Café Training
Our non-profit training cafés allow candidates the space, time and support to gain professional skills in a real work setting. Open to the public, these enterprises break stereotypes and showcase their talents.
RSHE
The aim of our RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) sessions is to give our young people with learning disabilities and autism the knowledge and understanding to live happy, healthy and independent lives
