Asa at The Grand

For many people, landing a job at one of the UK’s most iconic hotels would be a dream come true. For Asa, that dream became a reality at The Grand, Brighton.

Asa has worked at The Grand hotel now for nearly three years and he’s extremely proud of his role with the Housekeeping Team where he is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms to the highest standards.

Asa began his three-year journey with Team Domenica by developing important employment skills, alongside English, Maths and other life skills.

Building skills and confidence

“When I joined Team Domenica at 19, I was anxious because I previously hadn’t got the support I needed. But the staff at Team Domenica were extremely patient and guided me through the three years. Over those years I became a much more confident and independent person.”

During his time with Team Domenica, Asa completed placements at another city hotel and at a Co-op supermarket, but it was The Grand that particularly sparked his enthusiasm. From the moment he started at the seafront hotel, he was determined to secure a paid job there.
