Team Domenica Curriculum Policy
Easy Read
Our curriculum is the plan we have to help you get meaningful experience of work. We will work with you to set targets that are right for you, and which will help you to learn practical and classroom skills. We will also help you develop the confidence, independence and communication skills that you need for the next steps in your journey.
YEAR ONE is the Supported Employment Programme. We call this SEP. The timetable will have these things each week:
In our classroom you will learn functional skills and the skills that you need for being in work.
Functional Skills include Maths, English and Communication. You will learn at your own pace and work towards qualifications.
You will also spend time in our cafes learning practical skills and customer service.
In Relationship, Sex and Health Education you will learn about relationships, healthy choices and keeping safe.
Enrichment helps develop your communication and teamwork skills through activities in the community.
Careers Education helps you plan for paid work by visiting careers events and meeting employers.
Work Experience allows you to try different types of work. You will do three placements in the SEP year.
You will spend time with your mentor each week and you can talk to them about what is going well and anything you need support with.
YEAR TWO is the Supported Internship Programme. We call this SIP. The first half term is similar to SEP and then you will start an internship placement.
You will go the workplace each week with a Job Coach.
