Alex Foley’s 30-Hour DJ Challenge for Team Domenica
Alex Foley has always loved a challenge. As a DJ, NHS nursing assistant, and fundraiser, she’s constantly pushing herself to new heights. And now, to mark her 30th birthday, she’s taking on her biggest challenge yet – a 30-hour DJ set to raise funds for Team Domenica.
As a woman with autism, Alex knows the importance of the right support. That’s why she’s doing “30 for 30”, to help even more people with learning disabilities gain the opportunities they so deserve.
Team Domenica is close to my heart because I know how life-changing the right job and the right support can be. If this fundraiser helps even one person into work, it’ll all be worth it!

Who is DJ Alex Foley?
Alex Foley began DJing during lockdown after her Nan encouraged her to channel her creativity in new ways. What started as a hobby, soon became a powerful emotional outlet, with music helping Alex regulate her feelings and find calm.
Alex is no stranger to fundraising or marathon DJ sessions. Over the years, she’s raised over £9,500.00 for charity. She’s completed a 24-hour set for MacMillan, 30 hours for Dogs Trust, and a fantastic 42-hour set for Dementia UK.
Now, Alex is back behind the decks to mark her 30th birthday, completing a 30-hour fundraising session for Team Domenica – aptly named “30 for 30.”
Why Team Domenica?
When she isn’t DJing, Alex works as a nursing assistant in the NHS. She is supported by a Job Coach – a skilled professional providing personalised training and on-the-job assistance. Having personally experienced the benefits of employment and job coaches, Alex understands how vital these things are, especially for people like her.
In the UK, only 4.8% of people with learning disabilities are in paid work (NHS Digital, 2024). The Brighton-based charity, Team Domenica, are here to change this. Through our Supported Internship Programme, which includes job coach guidance, 80% of ouryoung people have secured meaningful employment.
Alex was introduced to Team Domenica through her friend, Kelly. Kelly had previously worked with the charity as an employer partner, and will be hosting Alex’s upcoming fundraiser. Seeing how Team Domenica’s mission mirrored her own experiences, Alex jumped at the chance to hit the decks again.
How to support “30 for 30”
Alex’s 30-hour DJ set will start at midday (12pm) on the Saturday 12 April, and will continue until 18.00 (6pm) on Sunday 13 April. Alex is hoping to fundraise an amazing £2,500 for Team Domenica’s programmes, something we are incredibly thankful for.
We are so excited for Alex ‘s “30 for 30” project. What an incredible feat! She’ll be making (sound) waves whilst making a difference, helping more people with learning disabilities and/or autism follow in her footsteps; find meaningful employment, and thrive. Thank you Alex!
